REVEAL YOUR LIBERATED NATURE

We will be holding space for 6 women (fem-identified individuals) December 13-15th, 2024 for a unique opportunity to learn how to learn the most important outdoor skills while backpacking with community!

Become a WILD WOMAN!

Those who already feel wild and experienced in nature are welcomed as well!

You can freshen up your skills, connect and share your knowledge with other women interested in outdoor activities, and have a relaxing get away in the middle of the holiday season when many of us need this get-away in the forest the most.

Austin, TX —–>>>>> Lost Maples State Park

December 13-15th, 2024

Come connect with mother nature and each other. Whether experienced or brand new to backpacking and the outdoors, Just Human Event’s goal is to support people feeling comfortable in and enjoying natural settings, which we believe starts with learning the skills necessary to feel confident when getting out there.

Attendees can meet us at Lost Maples State Park if you want to bring your car, or catch a free ride in one of our vehicles from Austin, TX (we can pick you up from the airport as well with request if you are flying in) to Lost Maples State Park to hike collectively about 13 miles over the course of 3 days, primitive/back country camp on the trail for 2 nights, and practice basic outdoor skills.

Never been primitive camping or thru-hiking? Now’s your chance to learn how to do both! (It’s easier than you may think).

The first day we will hike to the first campsite where we will help with and teach you how to set up your tent. We will review outdoor safety skills, go over types of equipment and resources and when to bring them, preservation principles such as animal and fire safety, Leave No Trace principles, what to do if you get lost/basic navigation, and more.

On the second day we will hike to the second campsite, where you will practice setting up your tent on your own. We will teach you the difference between state parks/BLM Land/National Parks and Forests, etc. and how to plan the hiking/camping/backpacking experience you would like (including what not to do so you can learn from our mistakes, and tips you won’t receive in any other outdoor training program).

The weekend will also include various connection activities, prompted journaling, etc. to get you in touch with yourself, connect with each other, and form a deeper bond with nature!

What does a “safe container” mean?

A safe container means creating an inclusive environment that values and supports everyone in it. A place where shame can dissolve and vulnerability is encouraged with community support. We leave judgement at home as we discover more about ourselves, learn new skills, and connect more deeply with mother nature, the nature within us all.

We take seriously any concerns attendees may have and vet all applicants to ensure they hold the same intention as the space we are offering.

We are happy to answer your questions regarding safety.

Come with a desire for personal growth and an open mind!
